PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, July 02, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Craig Goldenfarb is a personal injury lawyer with offices in West Palm Beach, but he is also an active member of his community and a supporter of local charitable organizations. Among his community activities, Mr. Goldenfarb is a coach for a youth soccer team, a responsibility he shared with a member of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department SWAT team. This SWAT team member informed Mr. Goldenfarb that the Department did not have bulletproof vests for its teenage Police Explorers.

Police Explorers are high school students who are participating in a Learning for Life chartered program designed to give them practical knowledge of a potential career path. In addition to specialized classes, Police Explorers participate in a number of activities, such as practicing crowd and traffic control, aiding stranded motorists, taking fingerprints, and filling out paperwork. They also participate in "ride alongs" where the Explorer rides in a police car with an active-duty police officer.

Although the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department strives to keep Explorers safe, Mr. Goldenfarb immediately recognized the potential for unexpected dangers inherent in police work and donated the bullet-proof vests for Explorers to wear during ride-alongs.
