/24-7PressRelease/ -- Cumberland Kia is proud to premiere the latest in innovation with the new UVO eServices. During the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Kia Motors America showed their latest in innovative, voice-activated infotainment technology systems.
UVO eServices evolves from the original UVO system, adding telematics suite powered by a smartphone application. This app gives the driver connectivity like navigation, diagnostics, parked vehicle locator, vehicle relationship management and convenience.
Kia incorporates new safety and security features like roadside assistance, curfew limit, speed alerts and crash notification assistance into their cars like the Optima Hybrid.
"UVO was a breakthrough for Kia, and signaled the brand's ambitious plans to become an in-vehicle technology leader by enabling drivers and passengers to use all of their personal technologies more safely and easily, while creating additional entertainment experiences," said Henry Bzeih, who heads the connected car program for KMA. "The development focus for UVO eServices was to deliver the connectivity, services and notifications valued by vehicle owners while also adding safety features, diagnostic information and innovations such as our parked vehicle locator to create user-friendly experiences that exceed people's expectations."
UVO eServices provides a guide, Car Care Web, Send2Car, Crash Notification Assist, My Car Zone and Park Assist functions. All functions are accessed by touch-screen and/or voice command. The eServices guide makes a phone call to the voice response system which interacts with the driver to explain the features. The Car Car Web provides a portal to check diagnostics, status, maintence scheduling, driving behavior, My Car Zone alerts and schedule appointments with Cumberland Kia.
Owners can also earn awards for safe and eco-friendly driving through this app. Send2Car allows owners to send a destination from Google Maps to their smartphone, then the phone will send the destination to the vehicle's navigation system the next time it's paired via Bluetooth. My Car Zone helps the driver stay up to date with the whereabouts of the car while away from it. Park Assist sends the location of the car to the driver's smartphone if they forget where they parked.
