EAU CLAIRE, WI, July 14, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Realityworks, Inc., the leader in education simulation technology, recently added six of its curricula to the National Instructional Materials Access Center (NIMAC) Repository. The curricula are available from the repository in the National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standard (NIMAS), and accessible to registered state representatives.

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 requires states to make textbooks more accessible to students with disabilities. The repository is supported by NIMAC and assists states with providing consistent file formats. The repository allows for the distribution of educational materials for use by blind or other persons with disabilities, formats include braille, audio or digital text.

Added to the NIMAC repository includes Realityworks' Basic Infant Care, RealCare Program, Pregnancy Profile, Understanding Prenatal Alcohol Exposure, Understanding Prenatal Drug Exposure, and yStart curricula. All curricula are supported by interactive simulators that help bring the learning lessons to life.

Providing curricula in NIMAS format is a standard requirement for most state adoption procedures. State adoptions for learning materials can provide textbook and other funding for programs.

"Having these impactful curricula added to the National Instructional Materials Access Center Repository opens opportunities for students with disabilities to work with our hands-on programs," says Timmothy Boettcher, president of Realityworks, Inc. "With even greater access to the curricula that the NIMAC repository provides, we're hopeful that even more students can experience these valuable life lessons and help them make healthy decisions for their futures."
