In early October 2008, The Rock Boat asked Niner attendees to vote for an up and coming artist to join the IX roster. With a call to action in The Rock Boat newsletter and on Curtis Peoples' MySpace blog - the response was overwhelming. The fans demanded and received, and with an official announcement on October 17, Curtis Peoples was named the newest addition to The Rock Boat Niner. "Getting voted on The Rock Boat was one of the best compliments of my career," explains Peoples. "I have an opportunity to really show what I can do, and my band and I are planning a fun rock show for this! I know getting to go on
this boat with all these awesome artists will be an honor and big thrill."
Curtis performs at the Palladuim on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 promptly at 8:30 PM.
The Rock Boat Niner sets sail from Miami, FL on Saturday, January 17 before making a pit stop in Nassau, followed by a visit to beautiful Half Moon Cay before returning to home base on Thursday, January 22. All events are aboard the Carnival Destiny with five stages showcasing live music, 24-hour room service, full casino, pools, bars, Flip Cup Tournament, Open Mic Night, and Rock Boat Confessional.
The Rock Boat IX general on sale is underway with less than 50 cabins remaining for sale. Available
cabins start at $949.00* per person based on double occupancy.
Curtis Peoples' self-titled album is now available on The Control Group/Galt Line Music. With thoughtful
lyrics and power guitars, Music Connection calls it "pure pop with a classic-rock vibe." You might call it "coffee shop arena rock", and Curtis may well be its only practitioner.
