One of four mobile applications developed by Cypress for new platform; iLike local concerts debut cements Cypress' role in mobile application marketplace.

SEATTLE, WA, November 08, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cypress (www.cypressconsulting.net), a Seattle-based interactive agency, today announced it has developed the new MySpace iLike Local Concerts application debuting on the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 operating system. Cypress's work with MySpace highlights a new direction for Cypress, showcasing its expertise in creating mobile interactive applications that draw on rich functionality and intuitiveness to enhance the user experience.

"Cypress' knowledge of Microsoft's mobile technology platform, prior experience and user-focused approach made them the right choice for developing the MySpace iLike Local Concerts mobile application," said Bjorn Laurin, vice president and general manager of Mobile, MySpace. "The user interface for this application focuses on functionality and usability to provide music lovers a visually powerful, familiar experience that allows them to connect with their favorite bands for live performances across the globe."

The MySpace iLike Local Concerts Windows Phone 7 application enables users to keep track of concerts and live music events for their favorite bands and venues worldwide. Music fans benefit from the application's ability to show upcoming concerts in their location for artists in their music library, provide directions to the venue and allow them to purchase tickets - all directly from their phone. This information can also be shared with friends. MySpace iLike Local Concerts will be free for users.

"The application was designed with vivid imagery and an energy that mirrors the feeling you get when you attend your favorite concert," said Roy Matich, executive creative director at Cypress. "Consumers will load the application on their phone and immediately be served up the music they love and a snapshot of concerts in their area, with easy access to getting directions and purchasing tickets. They can also plan a trip around their favorite concerts, manually setting a new location and displaying upcoming music events with corresponding location information."

Cypress, which is known for developing the interactive brands for the Seattle Seahawks, Sonics and Sounders, was selected by MySpace to develop the mobile application based on its expertise in developing interactive sites and applications using Microsoft technology platforms. Cypress also developed the new MSN Money Windows Phone 7 mobile application and demo applications for Major League Soccer (MLS) and Intuit's QuickBooks program for Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 operating system, as well as mobile applications for iPhone, iPad, and Android platforms. The company added Matich to lead its creative team, bringing years of experience at big brands like Razorfish and Starbucks, as well as his notoriety as a judge for mobile application awards.
