/24-7PressRelease/ -- In a continuing effort to aid area charitable efforts, Dade Medical College has agreed to donate $250,000 to the Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation, the Miami Beach, FL-based Mount Sinai Medical Center's philanthropic arm. The college announced the donation and presented a check to foundation Executive Director Michael Milberg on Friday, July 15, 2011 during a ceremony that also featured a very special guest - Florida Senator Bill Nelson.
"We are extremely fortunate and happy to be able to make this type of donation to Mount Sinai's foundation," says Dade Medical College President & CEO Ernesto Perez. "We find their mission to be well worthwhile, especially for the residents of Miami Beach and the surrounding communities."
Mount Sinai is one of an array of training hospitals affiliated with Dade Medical College, helping to train end educate students under the watchful care and direction of staff physicians and nurses. The college is dedicated to delivering outcome-based educational opportunities to students and like the college, the foundation strives to make a difference in the lives of all those that pass through it's doors.
Senator Nelson, a Miami native in town to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Port of Miami tunnel project, took the opportunity to tour the college's Miami Campus. He applauded the assembled Dade Medical College staff for their role in educating the area's healthcare professionals of tomorrow and also marveled at the quality of the facilities.
