Daesoo Kim Honored by Marquis Who's Who for Professional Excellence in Mechanical Engineering

Mr. Kim has contributed over 22 years of work to KEPCO E&C as an engineer and leader.

Throughout his career, Mr. Kim has contributed to his field through his research and publications.

    GYEONGSANGBUK-DO, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, November 20, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Daesoo Kim has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. The son of Yongtae Kim and Hwaja Shin, Mr. Kim served in the Republic of Korea Armed Forces in the middle of his studies from 1988 and 1990. After his service, his career as a mechanical engineer started with his education at Hanyang University. In 1994, Mr. Kim obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineering.

In 1995, Mr. Kim began work at KEPCO E&C, where he has devoted the majority of his career. He was initially hired as an engineer of the piping design department. His main responsibility was to perform piping stress analyses for a variety of projects. Mr. Kim worked in this position from 2004 through 2012. In 2002, Mr. Kim was certified as a mechanical professional engineer in the United States. In 2009, he was certified as a professional engineer of construction equipment in the Republic of Korea.

Throughout his career, Mr. Kim has contributed to his field through his research and publications. He has published three papers titled "A Study on the Stress Indices for Trunnion Attachments on Straight Pipe and Elbow" in 2008, "A Parametric Study of Independent Support Motion Method for Steam Supply Piping connected to HP Turbine for APR 1400" in 2013 ASME PVP Conference, and "A Study of the Seismic Analysis Method for Interface Piping System Multi-Supported Between Base-Isolated Building and Non-Isolated Building" in 2015 SMiRT Conference. His paper, "A Parametric Study of Independent Support Motion Method for Steam Supply Piping connected to HP Turbine for APR 1400," was recognized as the Outstanding Technical Paper by the Seismic Engineering Technical Committee at the 2013 ASME PVP Conference.

Mr. Kim has continued to work for KEPCO E&C as an engineering group leader for several central projects since 2013. Alongside his wife of seventeen years, Eunjoo Lee, Mr. Kim has raised a son, Taein Kim, and a daughter, Gainn Kim.
