(Nasdaq-DAKT)— the world's leading provider of large screen LED video display systems—selected Configure One's Concept Enterprise Product Configurator to help streamline its quote-to-order process.
Daktronics has strong leadership positions in, and is the world's largest supplier of, large screen video displays, electronic scoreboards, computer-programmable displays, digital billboards, and control systems. The company excels in the control of large display systems, including those that require integration of multiple complex displays showing real-time information, graphics, animation and video. Due to the complex nature its products, Daktronics was looking to streamline its quote-to-order process. The company's legacy system was too expensive and time-consuming to maintain, and no longer met their needs. "We were looking for a way to streamline our quote-to-order process by eliminating manual steps, and free up our internal resources to spend more time on value-added work," said Brad Wiemann, vice president, Commercial Business Unit, Transportation Business Unit of Daktronics.
Daktronics plans include integrating Concept with their existing ERP software. "When fully implemented, Concept will replace our home-grown quoting application as well as the configurator that is currently part of our ERP software," added Wiemann.
According to Wiemann, Configure One demonstrated the best solution for handling Daktronics' complex visual display requirements through a successful Proof-of-Concept (POC) and customer references. "During the POC phase, Configure One was very professional and they proved to us that they have extensive experience in the product configurator market."
Concept will be deployed in several phases. First, for use by inside sales, followed by field sales and resellers, and finally directly by customers. "We are expecting a dramatic reduction in the time needed to create a quotation, as well as eliminating configuration errors during the order entry process. In addition, we anticipate that our training time will be reduced for new employees," said Wiemann.
