Darla Esme Blake Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in the Development of Others

Darla Esme Blake Excels in Making a Positive Difference for the Community and Government



    CANNING VALE, AUSTRALIA, October 8, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ --Darla Esme Blake, director of community and organizational development for the City of Nedlands, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in the development of others.

While working as a professional assistant, Darla Blake recognized her penchant for organizational management, training, and coaching. She went back to school, and completed a certificate in economic development at Auckland University of Technology, a postgraduate diploma in public management from Victoria University at Wellington (in New Zealand) and completed training as a coach and was licenced as a coach trainer. Drawing on her education, Ms. Blake is proficient in working with directors, senior managers, and coordinators to provide them with the necessary tools to effectively coach staff and obtain the best possible results.

She currently serves as director of community and organizational development for the City of Nedlands. On a daily basis, she is an active member of the Executive Leadership team working on integrated strategic planning and corporate business activities and issues. She oversees 55 staff, reviews divisional operations, approves expenditures, and handles conflict resolution. With 15 years of experience in her field, Ms. Blake attributes her success to personal drive, an ability to bring out the best in others, integrity, honesty, treating people with respect, and continued education. After completing her contract with the City of Nedlands, within the next three years, Ms. Blake expects to establish another consulting and coaching business, covering the Australian, New Zealand and Canadian markets. The focus of her work will be executive coaching, leadership development and training technically savvy executives, managers and coordinators on people skills and effective coaching conversations - benefiting not only individuals but also building the capability and capacity of the organization as a whole.

Ms. Blake is a member of the International Coaching Federation, the Local Government Managers Association, the Australia Community Development Association, and the International Association for Public Participation. She is also charitably involved with the Cancer Foundation.
