    NEWARK, NJ, February 3, 2010 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Darrin A. Hawthorne, Mathematics Teacher at the Newark Public Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in secondary education.

As a teacher, Mr. Hawthorne is responsible for instructing eighth-grade students in mathematics and science. He follows state curriculum and works to improve its formatting. Mr. Hawthorne also coaches his school's basketball team. With eight years of experience in his field, he attributes his success to the inspiration he received from his mother.

Mr. Hawthorne received his BA from Rutgers University and received his certification from Middle School Algebra from Montclair State University. He is pursuing a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership at Walden University. He is a member of the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers. In the future, Mr. Hawthorne hopes to pursue a Ph.D. and become a principal or superintendent at the Newark Public Schools.
