SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 01, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dave Asheim, a leader in innovative mobile fundraising strategies and Founder of Give by Cell, will speak at the Federal Trade Commission's Mobile Cramming roundtable in on May 8, 2013 in Washington, D.C.
The Federal Trade Commission will host a roundtable to examine unauthorized third-party charges on mobile phone bills—a practice known as "mobile cramming." The roundtable will bring together consumer advocates, industry representatives, and government regulators to explore various issues, including how mobile cramming occurs and how to protect consumers from this practice.
"I'm honored to participate in the Roundtable with such industry veterans. We have worked with over 2,000 non-profit organizations over the last five years, serving their needs with mobile related services. At this roundtable we will share our experiences with these NPO's, providing real-world examples of how mobile can best be used, and what pitfalls to avoid."
The workshop will be free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required. Seating is limited, however, and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information about the roundtable including the official schedule, please click here.
Dave Asheim is a veteran of up-and-coming technology with 11 years of mobile technology experience. He launched Guide by Cell in 2004 with the initial goal of bridging the gap between cultural institutions and their patrons, and the business has since expanded to offer mobile technologies to solve a wide variety of problems faced not only by cultural institutions and nonprofit organizations, but government agencies, retailers, major corporations and more.
