David Wham Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Education and Writing

David Wham has spent more than 20 years with Chicago Public Schools



    CHICAGO, IL, June 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David Wham has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After graduating cum laude from Harvard University in 1959, Mr. Wham went on to utilize his Ivy League education in various capacities over the course of his career. Upon graduation, he served three years in the U.S. Army, and then spent two years as an instructor at the University of Wyoming. He then ventured to Southern Illinois University, where he taught while also earning a Master of Arts. Mr. Wham took a break from teaching from 1969 to 1978, during which time he served as a legislative assistant for the U.S. Congress in Washington, DC. However, his path eventually led him back to academia, and he has been a secondary school educator for Chicago Public Schools since 1994. More recently, he contributed to a think-tank publication for a university in North Carolina.

Mr. Wham has been a prolific writer over the years as well. He authored "My Farewell to Bohemia," published in 1968, "The Comic Genuflection," published in 1984, and "A Wave of Bright Boys," published in 1994. The same year, he received a fiction award from Columbia Pacific University. From 1980 to 1989, he worked as a freelance writer in Chicago. Mr. Wham was also a speechwriter for Adlai Stevenson's governor campaign in 1986, as well as for Dawn Netsch's governor campaign in 1994.

In light of his accomplishments, Mr. Wham has been featured in the 6th, 7th and 8th editions of Who's Who in American Education, the 20th through 33rd editions of Who's Who in the World, and the 56th through 70th editions of Who's Who in America. He remains affiliated with his alma mater as a member and interviewer for Harvard Club of Chicago.
