/24-7PressRelease/ - LONDON, UK, June 03, 2006 - A survey revealed that nearly two million UK residents owe more than 1,000 on credit cards, overdrafts and different kinds of other loans including unsecured loans. About 500,000 UK borrowers owe more than 20,000. A survey for debt consultants One Advise further found that about half of them owing 10,000 had taken out loans, 350,000 had used credit cards and remaining 83,000 used overdraft facilities.
According to survey conducted by debt consultants One Advice , almost two million people in UK owe more than 10,000 in the form of unsecured loans, credit cards and overdrafts. Nearly 5000,000 owe more than 20,000. Nearly half of those who are owing 10,000 had borrowed loans, 350,000 had used credit cards and 83,000 of them have used overdraft facility. Rest of the borrowers borrowed money from their family and friends.
Mortgage has been very popular in UK as most of the personal borrowings are carried out by mortgage only; mortgage loan is always secured against property. At the same time, it has been found through the same survey that many people are found having unsecured loan debt too.
Around 650,000 people in the age group of 35 and 44 are found to have owing 10,000. About one in twenty people of the age group of 18 to 24 years old owed at least 10,000.
