/24-7PressRelease/ -- The MP for Delyn has given his backing to a Mold-based entrepreneur who is developing a range of affordable eco-products for homes and businesses.
David Hanson MP visited Allbrite UK's eco-retail showroom on Chester Street to find out about solar power, solar hot water systems, energy-efficient underfloor heating and domestic wind turbines. It followed his recent backing of Government plans for an energy-saving revolution at home and work.
The Allbrite premises are believed to be the only eco-retail showroom in the country. Powered by solar generated electricity, with a turf roof providing insulation, the store has minimal heating, lighting and hot water costs.
Managing Director of Allbrite UK, Russell White, said: "Allbrite aims to research and develop cost-effective green products which can be easily incorporated into existing and new buildings.
"Any Government attempt to encourage consumers to go green has to be accompanied by the sale of affordable, energy efficient, easy to install systems."
Mr Hanson said: "I am pleased that Allbrite UK continues to develop its business here in Flintshire. They continue to lead the way in the eco-product sector. "Having voted to bring in our first ever Climate Change Act I will continue to promote environmentally sustainable businesses and initiatives to Government."
Russell added: "We road test all our products to ensure they are robust and meet manufacturer trial claims. We've run a year-long trial of our products on our home in Northop Hall. "We cut energy costs by more than 80 per cent. "Eco-energy generation has progressed a long way in recent years. Using the modern, efficient products we sell, it takes just three-and-a-half years to re-coup the installation cost".
