Denver Tummy Tuck Patient Satisfaction Is Tops

Campanile Plastic Surgery finds patient satisfaction rates for abdominoplasty procedures similar to those on RealSelf.com. This may indicate an overall increase in public awareness and interest in tummy tuck procedures.

DENVER, CO, September 17, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- According to local cosmetic surgery practice Campanile Plastic Surgery (http://www.campanileplasticsurgery.com), satisfaction rates among Denver tummy tuck patients have reached an all-time high in recent months and may point to an uptick in the amount of procedures being performed in the region. According to RealSelf.com, a website dedicated to sharing successful cosmetic surgery stories, satisfaction rates nationwide for abdominoplasty procedures have reached more than 95 percent. Campanile Plastic Surgery's own patient satisfaction data shows similarly high rates.

"The popularity of the tummy tuck at our practice closely mimics what RealSelf is reporting nationwide," says Dr. Frank Campanile, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Denver. "Over the past 15 years, there's been a nearly 340 percent rise in tummy tuck procedures being performed in the U.S., and that number will likely only get higher with time as more people discover the advancements made in this procedure."

Recent advances in technology and plastic surgery as a whole have brought big changes to how abdominoplasty is performed. Dr. Campanile has been among those pioneering a new type of tummy tuck that combines abdominoplasty and liposuction. Called the Combined Lipo-Abdominoplasty Sculpting & Shaping (C.L.A.S.S.) technique, the new form of abdominoplasty has led to shorter recovery times, often not even requiring the use of drains, which have long been a source of inconvenience for patients.

"I've found that this is a superior technique and the outcomes in terms of both aesthetics and patient satisfaction are much better than more traditional approaches," adds Dr. Campanile. "Traditional tummy tucks don't use extensive liposuction, which can have a very positive effect on the final contour. Our standard is to make sure our C.L.A.S.S. patients know they're getting the best, most innovative procedure and are always happy with their final results."

The reason traditional tummy tucks didn't use extensive liposuction was due to concerns about the effect of liposuction cannulas on the blood supply to the overlying abdominal skin, with a possible loss of tissue and poor scarring. Though excess skin and fat could be removed with this traditional approach, the final contour, Campanile said, notably in the upper abdomen, would be unsatisfactory.

"This procedure has helped revolutionize the field," Dr. Campanile said. "We've also been able to adopt certain techniques from C.L.A.S.S. in our regular abdominoplasty procedure, which has been great for our patients. I wouldn't be surprised if the number of Denver tummy tuck procedures continues to rise with satisfaction rates nearing 100% because of these advancements."
