/24-7PressRelease/ - CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA, June 07, 2008 - The International Detroit Black Expo, to be held at the beginning of June, comes at a time when South Africans are increasingly looking outward in their efforts to network effectively across business channels. A national call for improved networking capacity came from iAfrica.com, following the recent Fashion Exchange +27 conference where fashion industry specialists gathered to discuss a means to "cracking the identity code in SA" without neglecting networking potential worldwide.

FindinAfrica, an online business directory that links businesses and promotes online networking, states that "for any business - small, large, local, South African or international - the benefits of networking through a listing on an online business directory are proven to be beneficial for local trade and publicity in international markets."

Thousands of prospective business owners and investers from Africa and America are expected to meet at Cobo Center in Detroit on Friday, where there will be oppurtunities to patronise and build on entrepreneurial experience and education. The Detroit area has just under 20 000 black-owned businesses, while a portion of those exhibits are owned by successful business people who hail from countries in Africa.

In an article published in iAfrica online, Houliston stated that emphasis on education and networking across South African businesses is fundamental to avoiding the "bubble" that many local entreprenuers fall into when promoting business interests. "We fail to constructively criticise ourselves on a business level and we tend to congratulate ourselves prematurely instead of looking for fatal flaws that might damage our businesses (and) our reputations."

The expo in Detroit will host many workshops and lectures that will cover topics such as building and expanding business, economic empowerment, time and tax management as well as applying for grants. This encouragement of black-owned business comes at a time when Africans living in foreign countries are watching the xenophobic turmoil in Southern Africa with considerable distress.

Find In Africa is an online business directory that specialises in linking business and promoting business networks across a broad range of industries.
