Diana 'Di' deMontigny Named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Art

Diana 'Di' deMontigny Creates Stunning Works in Acrylic, Watercolor, Oil, Charcoal and Pencil

Russell, Manitoba, Canada, February 13, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Diana 'Di' deMontigny, an artist for Di deMontigny Fine Art, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

Ms. deMontigny became involved in her profession in 1987 when she took an art class with a local instructor; she had enjoyed painting as a child but pursued a different direction. Now with 25 years of experience, she draws objects that inspire her. She characterizes her style as having "developed from portraiture to impressionism," and "veering now toward the abstract." Her specialties include acrylic, watercolor, oil, charcoal and pencil art.

Her works have been featured in The Watercolour Gazette, MB. She has participated in a Solo Exhibition at Clear Lake, MB. Additionally, she is active with local arts groups in Brandon and Dauphin, Manitoba. Her participation in annual Juried Art Shows is a must, and so by adjudication process one piece of art was chosen to be part of the collection and was forwarded to show in the Parliament Building in Winnipeg, and toured Western Canada. She attributes her success to her father, who was determined to be self-employed and taught her genuine entrepreneurship.

Ms. deMontigny completed coursework at Assiniboine Community College. She has studied studio art with Libby Weir, Jan Layh, Diane Whitehouse, Steve Guthrie and others. Presently she is a member of the local group, Prairie Arts cARTel and participates in weekend workshops with Ben Davis, a mentor currently contracted with Brandon University and presently featured at the AGSM (Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba).

Diana worked briefly as a Licensed Practical Nurse, and a First Responder. She is a former member of the Canadian Society of Registered Technologists (now CSMLS-SCSLM). Also, she and her husband were full-time caregivers to their foster son - from his birth to his demise, almost nine years. Austin was just one of her "Life Missions", he was "her best and most loved teacher of the way of the heart."

Diana's Life Mission (and heart) has expanded focus now, and a new fervor entails not just standing for her family, but intercession for all global missions, and the greater world. Her art and meditative practice are the process, and her most recently renewed Life Mission reflects a mystical impact on her "heart-art."
