LAUREL, MS, November 5, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Diann Pardoe Wolf, Teacher for Nora Davis Magnet School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.
With 27 years of professional experience, Ms. Wolf specializes in gifted education. She is responsible for teaching gifted curriculum to second through fifth-grade students, teaching logical, critical and creative thinking skills and mentoring. She is also a renowned master storyteller who has performed in Montana, Tennessee and North Carolina, as well as several Cultural Arts Festivals. Throughout her career, she has taught grades Kindergarten through fourth and is the founder of the school's chess tournament, which she has directed for 15 years. She was inspired by a former teacher to pursue a career in education and attributes her success to the support she receives from her parents, colleagues and administrators. She received the Nora Davis Magnet School Teacher of the Year Award in 2006 and was chosen as Nora Davis Magnet School Association for Excellence in Education (AEE) Teacher of the Year in 2006.
Ms. Wolf received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1972 from The University of Southern Mississippi, where she also completed groaduate coursework. She is the co-founder of Pinebelt Gifted Teachers Association. Ms. Wolf is a Beta Club sponsor, and serves as a school coordinator for Relay for Life. She has raised funds for the Animal Rescue League, as well as the Lion's Club. She has also worked with several mission groups from Washington, North Cariolina and Alaska assisting in Katrina Recovery.
