Action on Film International Film Festival Honors Dilana with Win for First Movie Role
Dilana, best known for her participation on CBS' Rockstar Supernova, is thrilled to announce her win for Best Actress for Angel Camouflaged by the Action on Film International Film Festival.
"Angel Camouflaged", directed by Michael Givens, includes an impressive cast including James Brolin, Warrick Grier ("The Scorpion King: Rise of a Warrior"), Carlos Bernard (TV's "24"), Terry Serpico ("Army Wives") and of course Dilana. In "Angel", Dilana stars as Scottie, a singer who inherits a rundown bar and, with her somewhat less-than-reliable brother, Morgan (Warrick Grier), labors to revive the ramshackle tavern and rekindle her passion for music. The course of restoration will take some wholly unexpected and revelatory turns. For "Angel Camouflaged", Dilana composed and performed nine songs for the soundtrack including "Sexaholic", "Ice", "Airplane" and "Slaves" to name a few.
"One of my favorite shoe designers, John Fluevog, has the quote "Run your race with perseverance and never give up", in a pair of boots I own and love!," comments Dilana. "Another quote by John D. Hess, "a race horse that can run a mile a few seconds faster is worth twice as much. That little extra proves to be the greatest value". I have been a race horse most of my life. Getting this award finally feels like all of my "little extras" along the way have actually paid off! If I had not hit rock bottom and tasted ALL the good and evil that life offers and checked myself into rehab 2 years ago, I would have never met the lady who made this all possible! Coming off the heels of "Angel Camouflaged", Dilana is scheduled to appear in two additional movies. "Silence", written and directed by Jewels Satterfield, to begin shooting in February 2011 in South Africa, is an action packed thriller based on the underworld of internet pornography where Dilana will play the leading role as Alex Mitchum. Shooting in September 2010, "Here After", a psychological thriller, is a story of love, loss, passion and redemption with gripping action sequences and a subtle paranormal underpinning. Dilana will be the co-producer in charge of music for each and will offer soundtracks to accompany both films.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Dilana was inspired by such visceral singers as Janis Joplin and Tina Turner and has performed with rock legends Tommy Lee and Mick Mars (Mötley Crüe), Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Panic Channel) and Gilby Clark (Guns N' Roses).
