SANTA MONICA, CA, March 14, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/
-- Considering the political climate in the United States for over the past decade, an Islamic article
is usually a part of some controversy or news regarding wartime strategies or disputes. The key to discover Islam
, specifically that it is based on peace, is possible thanks to a new website, Walayah.org.
Dr. Idris Samawi Hamid, Ph.D. has spent years of intense focus and study that has roots in Islamic Philosophy, Cosmology, Metaphysics, and Mysticism. Dr. Hamid hopes that the website will become a resource that will serve as a foundational tool to the serious study of Islam.
Walayah.org just celebrated its launch on Feb. 1, 2012, and while SEO web tools are one way of ensuring that the website reaches the Google-searching masses, this day is one that has been a spiritual as well as intellectual undertaking for the writer and professor behind this website. Based on years of research, teaching Islam
comes naturally to Dr. Hamid, a published professor at Colorado State University.
"I hope that the website will serve as a gateway for accurate and fresh perspectives on Islam, but also fresh perspectives on cultivating cosmological and spiritual
understanding," Dr. Hamid said.
Dr. Hamid's two solo projects, Islam, Sign and Creation: the Cosmology of Walayah and Islam, Stations, and Process: the Spirituality of Walayah, are meant to provide what Dr. Hamid describes as an introductory foundation to the reality
of Islam on academic, journalistic and personal levels.
Dr. Hamid shares his personal experience while researching his works:
"I don't consider Islam a faith among faiths. This is a path for seeking knowledge about oneself and where one is going," Dr. Hamid said. "In an ideal world, there are millions and millions of things one can learn about Islam
. It's the introductory framework to approaching any other sources. It doesn't assume that you've read any other book about Islam, and is meant to provide the gateway to pursuing other encounters with Islam, as well as a benchmark for beginning the process of distinguishing the Muslim/Islamic description. Seeking knowledge over merely holding dogma."
aims to lead to a level of consciousness wherein readers can become aware of realities beyond the superficial.
Dr. Idris Hamid has an advanced degree, a Ph.D. from the State University of New York, Buffalo with a cosmology focus, which looks at the center beliefs of Islam.
