Dish Society Serves Up a Second Location in Katy

Farm-to-table cafe offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch opens in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch



    KATY, TX, March 18, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After several months of renovations, Dish Society, a casual, farm-to-table brand, is opening its bright yellow doors in the upscale LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch located at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. on Tuesday, March 17. The restaurant takes over the space formerly occupied by Otto's Deluxe Grille. Dish Society, which debuted its first location over a year ago in the Briargrove/Tanglewood area, offers local ingredient-inspired and chef-driven options for breakfast, lunch, supper, and brunch. It was one of Houston's most anticipated openings of 2014 and continues to attract a loyal following with local residents.

"We've always wanted to open in Katy. It's an underserved market populated with our target demographic," said Dish Society Owner, Aaron Lyons. "LaCenterra is the epicenter and social hub of Katy. It's a perfect fit for us; we feel confident that this is a concept the locals are hungry for and will embrace." The restaurant's menu represents a modern take on traditional favorites, from Nutella French toast, to shrimp and grits or coffee-crusted pork tenderloin.

At its newest location, the contemporary industrial space is outfitted with stained cement floors, an oversized "Eat Local, Be Social" wall mural, and Edison bulb pendant light fixtures hanging from wooden beams cleverly fitted with speaker systems. Lyons says the space is a much better representation of where they plan to go with decor in future venues. Anticipate 65 seats indoors, plus over 100 more on the 1500-square-foot wrap-around patio, complete with herb gardens, dual-sided bar tops with power outlets, wi-fi, outdoor fans and heaters, making it an ideal perch year-round. The patio also hosts front row seats to LaCenterra's Heritage Square, a year-round venue for community activities and entertainment.

Inside the restaurant, a corralled counter line will provide privacy for diners with take-away items like Houston-based Kickin' Kombucha and Caphin Vietnamese iced coffee. Bar seating with a large-screen television overlooks an open kitchen. Unlike its original location, the Katy venue will also offer handcrafted cocktails featuring Texas spirits such as Deep Eddy and Tito's. Similar to its approach to food, cocktails will be approachable and fun, taking a modern twist on traditional favorites. Other libations include 12 local craft beers on tap including Katy's own No Label Brewing Co., as well as an impressive estate wine collection. Kids can enjoy organic chocolate milk and fresh-squeezed juices.

Seasonally influenced menu items, including Roasted Beet Salad, Stuffed Avocado with Citrus Quinoa Relish, and Baked Sweet Potato loaded high with Texas grass-fed brisket are created with locally grown produce and other ingredients made in or around Houston as much as possible. "We are thankful to our local partners who share our passion for higher food standards and help us deliver the highest quality, freshest ingredients for our customers, including Atkinson Farms in Spring, Black Hill Ranch in Katy, Ole Dad Farms in Weimar, and Greenway Coffee & Tea Co. in Houston, among many others," says Lyons.

The restaurant offers counter service for breakfast and lunch, along with full service for social hour and dinner. It will be open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to midnight and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dish Society celebrates "social hour" weekdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
