HUDSON, WI, March 31, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Quantum Digital, the parent company of the discount color copy and printing company Docucopies.com, this week donated $1,000 to Secondhand Hounds, a local non-profit which provides short- and long-term foster care and adoption services to animals in need.

Based in Edina, Minn., this organization places dogs and cats in loving, caring foster homes for indefinite amounts of time until a permanent family can be found to adopt them. They have a specialty in finding homes for the so-called "bully breeds," such as pit bulls, who are unfairly perceived as being inherently dangerous. Donations to the organization go to cover shots, spaying and neutering, food, travel crates, toys, gasoline for volunteers, and other essential items for the health and comfort of the animals.

"In times like these, when many Americans are losing their jobs and their homes and can't afford basic health coverage, it can be easy for philanthropists to overlook others in society who need help but cannot get it for themselves--our animal friends," says Roe Pressley, Chief Public Relations Officer for Quantum Digital. "At our company we're lucky enough to be able to give to organizations that help people, while also not neglecting the high and noble members of the animal kingdom, especially those which our society values on a level above most other animals."

Docucopies has seen outstanding growth in the last few years, which has renewed and invigorated their sense of duty to their community.

"It's a moral and ethical obligation to help and serve your community, granted you have the resources to do so," says David Pressley, President and CEO of Quantum Digital. "It feels good to fulfill that obligation."
