Docucopies.com Donates $1,000 to Residential Treatment Facility

The web's leaders in discount color copies and printing pride themselves on supporting local non-profits.

HUDSON, WI, March 27, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Quantum Digital, Inc., the parent company of online color copy superstore Docucopies.com, donated $1,000 to a local non-profit drug and alcohol treatment center this week.

The Retreat, a residential addiction treatment facility just outside Minneapolis, has been on the company's short list of possible charities to donate to for some time. After careful consideration of this and a number of other local organizations, the company decided to contribute financially to this unique and life-saving facility.

As the company stated in the accompanying letter:

Most people have been affected by the consequences of drug and alcohol addiction at some time, either through friends or family or in their own lives. Our company is no different. Fortunately we've also witnessed the miracle of recovery, and we know that organizations like yours are absolutely vital in helping addicts deal with their disease and go on to lead happy, functional lives.

David Pressley, President and CEO of Quantum Digital, elaborated further:

"It's not just about feeling good or getting tax breaks. Giving to worthy non-profits and charities shows a commitment to improving the lives of certain at-risk groups and promoting the social good of our society as a whole. For profitable companies like ours to pass on some of their earnings to the less fortunate around us is more than a nice thing to do - it's a moral obligation. We're just happy we're in a position where we're able to give."

And what a position they're in. Over the last year, business at Docucopies.com has continued to grow at an amazing rate, one which bucks the common perception of small businesses being the worst victims of the recession.

"I think one of the things that have made our company recession-resistant is the very product we sell," says Roe Pressley, David's son and the company's Chief Public Relations Officer. "Discounted color copies are always great. But when nearly every organization, company and individual is pinching pennies, more people than ever seek out cheaper alternatives to the products they need."

Docucopies' pricing has been among the lowest on most print products for years. At just 7 per color copy, their prices are a fraction of the cost of the same product from the large, national big-box stores and most local print shops.
