The award, presented by Triangle Business Journal at the 12th annual Women in Business luncheon, recognizes Murchison for her entrepreneurial leadership and sustained community involvement.
Held on August 6, 2009 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham, North Carolina, the award luncheon honored 26 exceptional triangle business women for their success and accomplishments throughout the community.

Throughout her 35-year career, Murchison has maintained a solid focus on strong customer service and mentoring employees, enabling her to achieve success in all of her business endeavors. She has helped grow multiple businesses and participated in the acquisition of several North Carolina companies. In addition, Murchison has partnered in the start-up of two companies that serve clients in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
