Dog Breeding Reformers to Create Public Wiki of Current Laws

National Alliance for Dog Breeding Reform Volunteers to Fact-Check Submissions

FORT WORTH, TX, June 18, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The National Alliance for Dog Breeding Reform (NADBR) eventually plans to add a publicly accessible wiki on dog-breeding laws/regulations on its website. A wiki is a website that allows visitors to make submissions, corrections and additions.

Beth Palmer, NADBR's Director of Research, originated the idea of the dog breeding and auction laws wiki because it was consistent with the group's goals of transparency and accessibility.

"We have a team of volunteer researchers who have been gathering information about current dog breeding laws and regulations at the federal, state and local levels," said Palmer. "We're eager to share our research," she added.

"Making a wiki will help us quickly create an accurate resource for anyone who wants to know dog breeding laws and regulations in his or her state or city," said NADBR President Hue Grant. The wiki will focus on current laws and regulations, rather than bills or proposed rule changes, Grant said.

Asked about the group's longer-term plans, Grant responded, "We're bringing together dog rescue volunteers, dog lovers, veterinarians, and professional dog breeders to make dog breeding better for the dogs."
