Dog Lovers Start Canine Breeder Reform Group

Fort Worth Entrepreneur Ron Sturgeon Seeks Volunteers for Group Committed to Reforming Dog Breeding and Auctions

"We need volunteers and dog lovers interested in leading the effort and serving on the board of directors and volunteers willing to lobby for better regulations and laws covering dog breeding."

FORT WORTH, TX, December 04, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Although there are many good dog breeders, not all of them treat their dogs as they should. Some neglect dogs because caring for them properly costs money and reduces short-term profits.

"We've started an organization to lobby state legislatures for better rules to regulate canine breeders so that the bad ones change their business practices or get out of the dog-breeding business," said Ron Sturgeon, the Fort Worth business person who started the initiative called Reform Canine Breeders and Auctions (RCBAA).

"We need volunteers and dog lovers interested in leading the effort and serving on the board of directors and volunteers willing to lobby for better regulations and laws covering dog breeding," said Sturgeon.

The group, Sturgeon insists, is not anti-breeder or anti-pet store. Our members are not against breeders who are responsible, who treat their dogs humanely and who help to preserve many dog breeds, he said. Nor are they against people who choose to buy pets from pet stores.

The group has already grown to include hundreds of dog owners and members of dog rescue groups. To find out about volunteering, visit ReformCanineBreedersAndAuctions.com. Those interested in a leadership role or in serving on the new organization's board of directors, should contact Ron Sturgeon directly at [email protected].

Ron is active in Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Rescue and a passionate advocate for dogs. He has started, grown, and sold several businesses to publicly traded firms.
