/24-7PressRelease/ - Tuscaloosa, AL, July 26, 2008, Daniel C. Potts, MD and Partner at Alabama Neurology and Sleep Medicine, PC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of healthcare.

Dr. Potts has more than 11 years of professional experience and excels in neurology, and treating patients with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. He is responsible for overseeing operations and the education of medical students. He became more involved in his profession because he wanted to help others with Alzheimer's disease after watching his father suffer from it. Dr. Potts considers being chosen as a national advocate for neurological diseases by the American Academy of Neurology to be his greatest professional accomplishment. He has also published two books called 'The Broken Jar' and 'Neurology for the Boards.' He stays current with the trends in his profession by reading industry-related publications and enrolling in continuing education courses.

Dr. Potts earned his MD from the University of South Alabama in 1993, and is a fellow of the American Heart Association Stroke Council. He is affiliated with the American Medical Association and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. He volunteers with the Alzheimer's Association, Caring Days and United Way of America. Dr. Potts feels that providing proper care and treatment for the senior community can help prevent them from suffering from strokes, dementia and Alzheimer's diseases. Dr. Potts hopes to do more research on Alzheimer's disease in the future, especially that which will benefit caregivers.
