Dr. Danielle Sheypuk to Lead Wheelchair-Accessible Gallery Tour in Gowanus

    NEW YORK, NY, October 17, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This Sunday, October 18, 2015, disability-rights advocate, clinical psychologist, and fashion model Dr. Danielle Sheypuk will co-curate a wheelchair accessible gallery tour as part of the Arts Gowanus' GOS 2015 Curator-Led Art Tours, occurring during the course of the weekend.

The tour with Dr. Sheypuk will take place at the Ti Art Studios, 183 Lorraine Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231, Sunday, October 18, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (Art Tours will start promptly. Please plan to arrive several minutes early of start time.)

The Curator-Led Art Tours are listed on the Arts Gowanus website at: http://artsgowanus.org/curator-led-art-tours, where visitors can register to attend a variety of tours. Tickets are $20.

Dr. Danielle Sheypuk, a relationships expert, media commentator, disability-rights advocate and fashion model, is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the problems of dating, relationships and sexuality among the disabled. Wheelchair-dependent since childhood, Dr. Sheypuk has acquired special insights into the challenges facing the community, both in the everyday physical world as well as in the areas of mental, emotional and interpersonal well-being.

The winner of the title Ms. Wheelchair New York 2012, Dr. Sheypuk also broke barriers in early 2014 as the first wheelchair-dependent fashion model to appear on the runway during New York Fashion Week. Co-curating the tour with Dr. Sheypuk will be Sarah Kate Beaumont, who is the lead organizer of Arts Gowanus' GOS 2015 Curator-Led Art Tours. She is an interdisciplinary artist and writer.
