Passionate and knowledgeable in the areas of women's studies and English, Dr. Knuth Klenck has dedicated the entirety of her professional tenure to Colgate University, a private liberal arts university in central New York. She has amassed 39 years of experience and expertise as an educator. She began her work with the university in 1978 as an instructor for two years. Thereafter, she was an assistant professor, followed by an associate professor and finally, a professor, where she has excelled since 2000. Regarded for her teaching style and her work ethic, Dr. Knuth Klenck has been instrumental in a number of programs spearheaded by the university. For three years, she was the director of the first tier of the general education program. She also served as the college's director of the London English Studies Groups on six occasions. She has served as an officer of Colgate's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa for many years. When asked about her drive and motivation, Dr. Knuth Klenck's answer is simple: she loves literature, she loves to teach, and she loves the interactions she has with her students.

Dr. Knuth Klenck entered her profession because of a love of learning that was instilled in her by her parents, Charles and Nancy Knuth. She prepared for her career by first investing her time and effort into her own education. She earned a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Smith College in 1974, a Master of Arts and Master of Philosophy from Yale University, where she held a University Fellowship, in 1977, and a Ph.D., also from Yale University in 1980. She has published numerous scholarly articles and book chapters, most of them concerning the work of Jane Austen. Dr. Knuth Klenck continued in her professional development throughout her career through her memberships with prominent academic organizations, including the American Association of University Professors, the Modern Language Association, the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, the National Women's Studies Association, the Jane Austen Society of North America, and the Jane Austen Society of the UK. In recognition of her professional excellence in her career, Dr. Knuth Klenck was the recipient of a Sears-Roebuck Foundation Award and an Alumni Corporation District Teaching Award. Additionally, she was honored on two occasions each by Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, and Who's Who of American Women. As she looks to the future, Dr. Knuth Klenck intends to continue teaching for Colgate University while taking on new opportunities in higher education as they arise.
