A diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Gladstone is a fellowship-trained Mohs, reconstructive and cosmetic surgeon who specializes in skin cancer and cosmetic treatments. He is also noted as one of the pioneers to popularize performing facelifts using local tumescent anesthesia. His practice, the Gladstone Clinic, offers skin cancer checks, Mohs surgery, and various customized treatments in laser and facial resurfacing, as well as other cosmetic services. Located in San Ramon, Calif., the practice has become a trusted resource for skin cancer diagnosis and treatment and cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Gladstone earned an MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in 1992 and became licensed in the state of California in 1993.He trained in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and Dermatology at programs associated with UCSF, University of Washington and UCLA. Dr. Gladstone served as an Associate Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine and Director of the Division of Dermatologic Surgery at Stanford University Hospital and Clinics for 11 years. He has lectured on cosmetic and reconstructive techniques at national and international conferences, and served on master reconstruction panels worldwide. Dr. Gladstone is a fellow of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American College of Mohs Surgery, the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology. A skilled educator and expert, he is a past Director of the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery as well as the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery course at the American Academy of Dermatology's annual meeting. He has also been a faculty member on a highly acclaimed video for injectables.
An active member of the medical community, Dr. Gladstone is a past president and past member of the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Dermatology Society as well as a past president and past member of the Board of Directors of the Pacific Dermatology Association. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. He also has served on the Board of Directors for the San Mateo and California divisions of the American Cancer Society. He is a member of both the San Mateo and Alameda-Contra Costa Medical Associations. For 11 years, Dr. Gladstone volunteered at the student run Stanford homeless clinic in Menlo Park. Dr. Gladstone has received a number of formal honors over the years in recognition of his excellence in dermatologic surgery. These include the Theodore Tromovitch Award from the American College of Mohs Surgery, Clinician of the Year from the Melanoma Research Foundation and being named a Top Educator by the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Gladstone has also been featured in the 65th through 70th editions of Who's Who in America. Prior to medical school, Dr. Gladstone was an award winning photojournalist and sports editor in Colorado.
