Dr. Jill Rabin Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Obstetrics & Gynecology

As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. An award-winning physician in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Rabin is Professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine, serves Northwell Health as its co-chief of women's health programs, PCAP services for the division of ambulatory care and is head of urogynecology, LIJ Medical Center of Northwell Health. Also an educator, she is co-chief of the Advanced Clinical Experience in obstetrics and gynecology for the Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine. Dr. Rabin is driven by a passion for providing quality health care to improve the lives of women throughout the New York region. In recognition of her professional excellence, she was named Grantee of the Year by the Susan G. Komen Foundation. She was also the recipient of an excellence award from the Association of Professors in Obstetrics-Gynecology and a Women's Institute of Research Award from NSLIJHS. Additionally, Dr. Rabin has a number of patents pending for technology and products that have come from her research, including a confidence-building incontinence pad, pessary for treating vaginal prolapse, finger protector for surgeons, digital retractor, and an apparatus for monitoring detrusor pressure exerted by a bladder.

Select roles that Dr. Rabin previously held include associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology and assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, associate attending in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Queens Hospital Center, and director of the Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program at Queens Hospital Center. She continues to serve as an academic competition judge for the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research of Northwell Health.

Dr. Rabin earned an MD from the State University of New York Downstate Medical College in 1981 after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in speech pathology and audiology from Hofstra University, where she focused a tremendous amount of additional time on premedical studies. An active member of her professional community, she maintains membership with the National Association for Continence, the Long Island Women's Agenda, the New York Obstetrical Society, the Medical Society of New York, and the National League of American Pen Women, among many others. Bringing her impact in the field of women's health to the masses, Dr. Rabin has authored books and chapters in professional publications, including "Mind Over Bladder: You're Never Too Old to Have Fun," and "Manual of Obstetrics, Little Brown."

She is the recipient of various awards and accolades including the Arnold Fenton Award from Northwell Health's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Hofstra University Alumni Achievement Award, an Excellence in Teaching award from the Association of Processors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Women's Institute Research award from NSLIJHS, and the Queens Impact award from the Queens Time Ledger. As she looks to the future, Dr. Rabin intends to continue offering top quality women's health care.
