RALEIGH, NC, October 01, 2008
/24-7PressRelease/ -- John C. Pittman, MD, founder of the Carolina Center for Integrative Medicine (CCIM), was recently honored by Business Leader magazine as one of the publication's 2008 Triangle Impact Health Care Leaders. CCIM is the Triangle's leading provider of integrative medical treatments and therapies. Founded by Dr. John Pittman in 1994, CCIM has treated over 4,000 patients and provides treatments and therapies including Chelation, IV Nutritional Therapies, Detoxification, Natural Hormone Replacement, and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
Dr. Pittman was one of twenty-five physicians and/or industry executives to be recognized this year by Business Leader. Dr. Pittman says that it is an honor to be alongside so many trusted and respected names in the health care industry and he attributes his success to practice team members who share in his commitment of total patient care and well being.
"It truly is a privilege to work with so many talented individuals who truly care about our patients as individuals," says Dr. Pittman. "Our patients truly respond to this kind of personal and interactive treatment and realize that we're all equally committed to ensuring their optimum health and quality of life. I'm proud of this distinction and look forward to continuing to serve the Triangle community."
Dr. Pittman received his B.S. in biology and M.S. in biochemistry and microbiology at the University of Georgia. He received his M.D. degree from Mercer University in Macon, GA and attended the Pediatric Residency Program at NC Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC with an interest in Preventive Medicine. Dr. Pittman began working as an Emergency Physician and was Emergency Department Director in Rocky Mount and Southport, NC. It was in the Emergency Room setting that he realized how much lifestyle issues—especially diet and nutrition—were playing significant roles in the health of the patients he saw. Prompted by this, Dr. Pittman began exploring avenues of incorporating conventional and holistic medicine with nutrition into a clinical medical practice. In 1994, he established CCIM, a facility where multiple healing modalities were brought together to help patients with chronic degenerative illnesses. Since that time, Dr. Pittman has intensified his training and has gained certification in chelation therapy, mercury and heavy metal toxicology, and oxidative medicine.
