Dr. Kevin L. Haglin, professor and department chairman for St. Cloud State University, has been named
Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Physics Education. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.
Haglin has 17 years of experience in
higher education, nine of which have been spent at the
university. As a
professor and
department chairman at
St. Cloud State University, he teaches
physics courses on a variety of topics including
nuclear theory,
electromagnetic probes of high energy nuclear reactions,
photon and
dilepton production and
nuclear fragmentation and
correlation. In addition to teaching, Haglin attends international conferences, where he presents research papers, and has been published in more than fifty nuclear physics research journals. Between 1990 and 1993, Mr. Haglin was a research fellow at McGill University in Montreal. He received his bachelors degree in physics and mathematics at Hamline University, and in 1990, he received his doctorate in physics at the University of Minnesota. Haglin has also received awards highlighting his career achievements, including the Faculty Research Award from the College of Science and Engineering at St. Cloud State University in 2001 and the Robert M. Page Physics Award from Hamline University in 1984. He is also a lifetime member of the American Physical Society.
