SACRAMENTO, CA, November 05, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- TMS Health Solutions today announced that Dr. Kevin Rosi, an adolescent and young adult depression specialist, has joined the practice. Dr. Rosi offers more than eight years of experience working in a community mental health outpatient clinic as well as running his own private practice.

Since graduating from his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Stanford University in 2007, Dr. Rosi has focused primarily on treating children, adolescents, and young adults. He is Board-certified in Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry and completed a visiting fellowship in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) at Duke University in 2015.

"I've always believed in utilizing a holistic approach that emphasizes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic options to best treat each individual patient, especially when dealing with the sensitive nature of adolescents and young adults," said Dr. Kevin Rosi. "TMS Health Solutions is offering patients with severe depression an alternative treatment that is cutting-edge and inspirational, and I wanted to be a part of that."

TMS therapy is a drug-free, non-invasive treatment administered in a physician's office. By using an MRI-strength magnetic field to stimulate the frontal cortex area of the brain, the core symptoms of major depression can be painlessly alleviated. Unlike anti-depressants or Electroconvulsive Therapy, patients undergoing TMS therapy experience minimal side effects. A course of treatment is typically four to six weeks of daily 45-minute sessions. Clinical studies have shown that TMS is effective in about 60 percent of patients, twice as effective as antidepressants.

"We are excited to have Kevin join our practice and expect that he will be an integral part of the company's growth," said Dr. Richard Bermudes, medical director at TMS Health Solutions. "Kevin's training at Stanford and Duke, as well as his extensive experience with adolescent and young adults make him an ideal addition to our practice."

Located in the Sacramento area, TMS Health Solutions centers provide TMS therapy, an alternative, drug-free, non-invasive treatment for patients with severe depression. TMS Health Solutions is led by Dr. Richard Bermudes and Dr. Karl Lanocha, two of the nation's leading experts on using TMS therapy as an innovative treatment for depression.
