NEW ROCHELLE, NY, March 06, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lynne Perry-Bottinger, MD, FACC, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in medicine.

Dr. Perry-Bottinger has 28 years of experience in the medical field, and possesses expertise in the areas of interventional and preventative cardiology. For the past 15 years, she has run her eponymous cardiology practice, which provides premier heart health care. In the course of her daily duties, she is tasked with treating patients, as their health and well-being is of the utmost importance.

Medicine is a tradition in her family; her father, also a cardiologist, helped found the Association of Black Cardiologists with a number of his colleagues.

Dr. Perry-Bottinger attributes her success to maintaining a program of physical exercise, which she began at a young age. She ran on the track team at St. John's School where she was the first African American student to graduate. Her mother is also a doctor, a retired pediatrician, and six of her 10 siblings became doctors, so it was something that was instilled in her throughout her youth. She earned an MD from Yale Medical School, graduating with honors and remained at Yale for internal medicine residency and chief medical residency. She also earned an AB in history from Harvard University, graduating cum laude. She did her cardiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital which included a year dedicated to interventional cardiology.

Dr. Perry-Bottinger was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and maintains affiliations with the American College of Cardiology where she is a Fellow and has served on the Women in Cardiology board. She is a lifetime member of Association of Black Cardiologists. In the past, she served as the president of the American Heart Association of Westchester. She has served as a medical expert for Good Morning America, the TODAY show, and has lectured throughout the world on heart disease and how to prevent it. She has been on Castle Connolly's Top Doctors regional and national lists for years and recognized by Network Journal, Westchester Magazine, New York Magazine, and Westchester Wag, among others. In the coming years, she expects continued professional maturation and growth, and looks forward to seeing her children graduate and embark on their own paths to success.
