Dr. Martha J. Shadel Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Healthcare

    Harrison Township, MI, July 27, 2008, Martha J. Shadel, Medical Director of Bridgeview Family Medicine and Urgent Care, formerly Bridgeview Medical Center, P.C., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of healthcare.

As the Medical Director of Bridgeview Family Medicine and Urgent Care, Dr. Shadel specializes in treating both occupational and emergency medicine injuries along with practicing family medicine and evaluating drug screens. Prior to founding her clinic, Dr. Shadel practiced emergency medicine at St. John Macomb Hospital and continues to do so. She feels that the most rewarding aspect of her career is helping improve her patients' quality of life and considers opening her clinic to be her greatest professional accomplishment.

Dr. Shadel is certified as a Medical Review Officer by the American Association of Medical Review Officers since 2005. She is a board certified emergency medicine physician and received a certificate of added qualifications in occupational medicine in 2006. She received her Doctor of Osteopathy Degree from The College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, now known as Western University of Health Sciences, in 1988 and a previous Bachelor of Science as a Physician Assistant from Western Michigan University in 1976. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Indiana University in 1972. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Michigan Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic College of Occupational and Preventive Medicine, the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Medicine, and Sigma Sigma Phi.
