Dr. Martin A. Schloss Celebrated for 41 Years in the Field of Education

Dr. Martin Schloss specializes in leveraging resources for schools as a director of the Board of Jewish Education of Greater NY



    NEW YORK, NY, August 16, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Martin A. Schloss, Director of the Division of Day Schools Education for the Board of Jewish Education of Greater New York, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education administration.

A 41-year veteran of his profession, Dr. Schloss was born of two educators; his mother was a day school principal in Massachusetts while his father was a businessman who ran religious schools. He proudly upholds his parents' legacy as director of the division of day schools education for the Board of Jewish Education of Greater New York. In his fourth year in this capacity, he is in charge of leveraging state and federal government allocations and entitlements, including Title 2 funds, and determining ways to maximize resources to educate teachers and help students improve. Additionally, he is responsible for assessing all day schools and private schools, and identifying where students' test scores can be strengthened.

Respected by his peers, Dr. Schloss has been appointed to positions of leadership in various education organizations. He serves as chairperson of the New York State Commissioner's Advisory Council on Nonpublic Schools, the NYC Department of Education Committee of Religious School Officials, and the New York State Education Department Committee of Practitioners. Dr. Schloss has been honored with inclusion in Who's Who in American Education and with the Zella Bronfman Butler Award for Excellence in Education by the J.B. & E.Z. Butler Foundation. He attributes his success and longevity to always seeking to do better and having a good team around him.

Dr. Schloss received a Doctor of Education in educational administration in 2009 from Yeshiva University. He is a member of ASCD, the Association of Jewish Special Educators, the Council for Exceptional Children, and the Jewish Special Education International Consortium. As he moves forward in his career, he plans to enhance the professionalism of the school network and help the schools become more data-driven and accountable, using top-notch resources in the areas of programming and materials to enhance student proficiency.
