Dr. Matthew Feeney Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Languages and Translations

Dr. Feeney is a specialist in Slavic languages and linguistics and is currently conducting research and writing in these fields while living in Laramie, Wyoming



As he looks to the future, Dr. Feeney intends to continue working as an educator and a translator while keeping an open mind to international opportunities.

    LARAMIE, WY, July 12, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Matthew Feeney has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

An expert linguist and editor with more than four decades of experience in the field of education, Dr. Feeney is internationally recognized for his work and research. Noteworthy roles in his career have included director of the study abroad program in Moscow, Russia for the State University of New York, Albany, director of the summer study abroad program in Zagreb and Dubrovnik, Croatia for the University of Kansas, researcher for the Internationalization Laboratory at the University of Wyoming, and assistant professor of the Russian language and Slavic studies at Our Lady of Corpus Christi in Texas. Through these experiences, Dr. Feeney has welcomed opportunities to act as an editor and translator for projects around the world. Currently, he is conducting research and writing in the areas of Russian and Slavic language, linguistics and poetry. In addition to this work, he has translated numerous publications, including two Russian articles for a volume in literary criticism on Mikhail Lermontov's novel "A Hero of Our Time." Dr. Feeney also regularly contributes to the Slavic and East European Journal, and to the Journal of the Central Association of Russian Teachers of America.

Dr. Feeney earned a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas after achieving a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wyoming, a Master of Arts from the State University of New York, Albany, and a certification of advanced studies. He studied intensive Russian language, linguistics and culture, and conducted research in Russian linguistics at Moscow State University in Russia, received awards for excellence in Croatian and Serbian language at the University of Kansas, and was inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society at Jefferson City, Missouri. To stay at the top of his field, he is actively involved with the Modern Language Association, the Central Association of Russian Teachers of America, and the American Association of Teacher of Slavic and East European Languages. As he looks to the future, Dr. Feeney intends to continue working as an educator and a translator while keeping an open mind to international opportunities.
