Noted physician Dr. Nancy B. Lebowitz is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a clinical instructor in Cornell Medical Center's Department of OB-GYN. She specializes in preventive gynecology, hormone replacement therapy (including bio-identical hormone pellet insertions), and the diagnosis and treatment of the human papilloma virus and attendant cervical dysplasia. She is also skilled in the use of bioidentical hormones and anti-aging. Dr. Lebowitz also treats women who experience significant weight gain with antidepressants. She has served as a press spokesperson for two gynecologically-related products, Ortho Options and Monistat, and she has been quoted in Glamour, Self, Marie Claire, Mademoiselle, Cosmopolitan, Ladies' Home Journal, Shape, and Jump. Now celebrating her 27th year in private practice, Dr. Lebowitz manages a so-called destination practice, meaning that she is sought out by patients from around the world. At her practice in New York City, Dr. Lebowitz is known for her diagnostic skills and for consistently staying at the leading edge of gynecological advances. Dr. Lebowitz has faced many challenges in pursuit of her career. When her father died her first year in medical school, her money was limited. To help pay for the cost of medical school, she took a job waitressing and made things work. Dr. Lebowitz received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati Medical School and a Bachelor's Degree, Cum Laude, from Dartmouth College. She has served on the Department of OB-GYN's Quality Assurance Committee at New York Hospital and the Quality Assurance Committee at Oxford Health Plans prior to its merger with United Health Care. In 2013, she received a Patients' Choice Award. She supports an African girl in Kenya through the Clinton Global Initiative GlobalGiveBack and supports two oversees foster children through Plan International USA. She is married and the mother of twins that currently attend Tulane University.
