Dr. Pauline James Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Academia

Retired educator Dr. Pauline James recently published the novel, "Disturbing the Dust"



Prior to her retirement in 2005, she spent five years as a principal fellow and associate professor at the University of Melbourne.

    TEMPLESTOWE LOWER, AUSTRALIA, June 28, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Pauline James has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Dr. James is a retired educator who has always been passionate about the field of academia. She has excelled in her career thanks in part to her own strong educational foundation, which began at the University of Sheffield in 1961. She graduated with honors from the school in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, and later went on to receive a Bachelor of Education from the University of Queensland in 1972. Dr. James remained at the University of Queensland to earn a master's degree in educational studies in 1975. In the early 1990s, she decided to further her education by attaining a Ph.D. from La Trobe University, and received an Exemplary Doctoral Thesis award from the school in 1993. In 1998, she shared in a research grant from the National Centre for Vocational Education Research as she also did in 2000 from the Department of Education, Employment and Training, Victoria.

Dr. James fully utilized her studies over the course of her career. Prior to her retirement in 2005, she spent five years as a principal fellow and associate professor at the University of Melbourne. She previously served as the director of research training for the school's Center for Human Resource Development and Training, as well as the postgraduate coordinator of its Department of Vocational Education and Training. However, she spent the majority of her career with the Hawthorn Institute of Education, fulfilling the roles of senior tutor, lecturer and senior lecturer. Dr. James' earlier teaching positions included posts at Brisbane Girls Grammar School and Georgia State University.

An active member of the academic community, Dr. James served on the editorial advisory board for the Journal of Vocational Education and Training from 1997 to 2005, as well as the editorial panel of the International Journal of Training Research from 2003 to 2005. She also contributed a number of articles to professional journals. Dr. James was proud to be featured in twelve different editions of Who's Who in the World published between 2003 and 2016.

Dr. James currently resides in Templestowe Lower, Victoria, where she enjoys walking, reading, theatre and classical music. She recently authored the novel, "Disturbing the Dust," which was published in 2015.
