Dr. Smith has 25 years of professional experience, nine of which have been as president of Jehovah Jireh Community Institute. His expertise lies in counseling and coaching. Aside from overseeing the daily operations of the institute, Dr. Smith provides counseling and education to children, adolescents and adults in English, Spanish, Greek, and public speaking as well as all subjects of theology.

He received a Master of Theology with a minor in education from Andrews University, a Master's Degree in Special Education and Learning Disabilities from Brooklyn College and a Bachelor of Theology with a minor in philosophy from Northern Caribbean University. He has received numerous certificates, diplomas and awards and considers receiving the Key and Seal to the State of Florida to be among his greatest professional achievements. He is a sought-after speaker in many areas of academia and a national and international traveler. He has conferred honorary degrees on men and women from different parts of the world.
