Dr. Walter Maisel Named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Manufacturing and Engineering

    TROY, MI, July 20, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Walter Maisel, president and chief executive officer of Kostal North America, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

Having led a career that has spanned 20 years, Dr. Maisel began working as a mathematician and computer scientist, drawing on a strong academic foundation in these areas. He holds a master's degree in mathematics and physics from the University of Bayreuth, as well as a master's degree in electrical engineering. He has also completed more advanced training through the University of Karlsruhe, which resulted in a Ph.D. in computer science.

In addition to having worked with mathematics and computer science, Dr. Maisel has taught at the university level in Germany. After being involved in these sectors, he embarked on a career focused on industrial computing. He eventually moved into Automation, Semiconductors and Automotive. In particular, Dr. Maisel once served as the vice president of Siemens, where he was involved in driver information systems, industrial and automotive semiconductors, and research and development.

Through the many opportunities that Dr. Maisel has encountered, as well as the use of his positivity and technical understanding, he has been able to reach a great level of success in his work. He has also been aided by his strong ability to connect with people, rather than businesses. These are attributes that he brings to his present endeavors with Kostal North America, an entity that provides its clients with sales, engineering and design services concerning automotive, electronic and electromechanical products.

In his current role, Dr. Maisel is entrusted with overseeing $300 million in the sales, engineering and marketing of high-quality, cost-effective interior components and system solutions. In order to do so effectively, he maintains best practices in the production of tier-one automotive supplies with focus on interior electronics and mechatronic products and systems. The president and CEO of Kostal North America for the last seven years, Dr. Maisel has become particularly proficient in managing a company in sales, engineering, and manufacturing.

In addition to his current work, Dr. Maisel serves as an executive board member of the German American Chambers of Commerce in Chicago. He is also an adviser within the University of Michigan's school of engineering. In the upcoming years, Dr. Maisel hopes to experience continued growth and gain greater operational responsibilities worldwide.
