/24-7PressRelease/ - CHAMBLEE, GA, January 21, 2007 - In a recent survey of 10,970 allergy sufferers, dust mites topped the list of their allergy-related health concerns with 68 percent of survey participants indicating a problem with dust mite allergy.

According to the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI), as many as 90 percent of people with allergic asthma and 10 percent of the general population are sensitive to dust mites, microscopic relatives of spiders and ticks. Dust mite waste particles are second only to pollen in causing allergic reactions.

To relieve house dust allergy symptoms, the ACAAI recommends paying special attention to cleaning the bedroom and environmentally controlling dust with dust mite encasings that zip around mattresses, pillows, and box springs.

achooallergy.com, the website which conducted the allergy survey, offers dust mite encasings as well as an allergy relief learning center and other allergy relief products like air purifiers, dehumidifiers, and vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters.

"If you decrease your exposure to allergens, then you will breathe better, sleep better, and feel better," says P. Cade McDonald, founder and CEO of achoo! ALLERGY & AIR Products, Inc.

Following dust mite allergy, 55 percent of the allergy survey participants indicated sinus problems, 48 percent indicated mold allergy, 48 percent indicated pollen allergy, 35 percent indicated animal dander allergy, 25 percent indicated asthma, 20 percent indicated chemical sensitivities, 18 percent indicated skin allergy, 17 percent indicated eye allergy, and 13 percent indicated food allergy.

The allergy survey was conducted as an optional part of registration during the first annual Allergy-Proof Bedroom Holiday Giveaway at achooallergy.com.

Since 2000, achooallergy.com has offered the best allergy relief products, the best customer service, the best information, and the best value. 1-800-339-7123. http://www.achooallergy.com
