Dw. Dunphy Announces New Website DwDunphy.net Now Online

Musician Dw. Dunphy introduces new site in conjunction with new recordings.

RED BANK, NJ, July 23, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- "What was once an advantage is now a requisite," said musician Dw. Dunphy bluntly. His revamped and relaunched website http://www.DwDunphy.net arrived mid-July to help inform listeners of new recordings he is working on, but Dunphy envisions the site as much more.

"So in order to be in this, in a real and serious manner, you have to have a website. There's no way around that. But the difference comes with what you do with that. I intend to have a regular flow of new content, and to populate the space with as much information as I can," Dunphy said. "One of the more frustrating aspects of any site -- it does not matter what discipline that site resides in -- is when there content is not updated or is updated infrequently. That has to be something that is addressed first and foremost, and we've made that a priority at http://www.DwDunphy.net ."

To that end, not only will Dunphy's site provide information about the one-man-band's current and recent work, as well as links to his music and where to buy it, but also will link to his writing with sites like www.popdose.com and www.newjerseystage.com. In the blog section, Dunphy will tout the new music that he is enjoying and wants the world to know about, because he is as much a fan as he is a creator.

"That's one of the most important areas for me," Dunphy said. "There is a prevailing belief that good new music does not exist, which is a false assumption. It exists, but is very hard to find with the talent pool being as crowded as it is right now. I want the blog section to be like that friend's recommendation -- 'Hey, you should check these people out. They're really good.' -- that sort of word-of-mouth that is so necessary for current artists to thrive."

Dunphy also hints that archival material of his, ranging back to the mid-1990s, will likely see the light of day on the site as well. "There are some songs in there that I'm still fond of and proud of, but I would be very concerned with committing them to digital and then asking people to buy them. I know that there's a lot of leeway and forgiveness within lo-fi parameters today, but I think it is more fair to use the site as a venue to give it away. I think we will do just that very soon," he added, amending the statement with the cryptic, "Stay tuned!"

When asked why there was such a long span between his old and new website, Dunphy said, "I thought the old site was really well-crafted and was good representation for my work, but that component of engagement was lacking, and I blame no one but myself for that. People -- fans, non-fans, or just Internet users in aggregate -- expect there to be a form of relationship with a website. It's more than just a place to get stuff and run, which I didn't understand at the time. I feel that http://www.DwDunphy.net succeeds much better in giving me a way to make those connections. I hope people will check it out, listen to the music, and be engaged with it."
