BOBCAYGEON, ON, CANADA, June 05, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ --1867 Confederation Log and Timber Frame Homes has announced that co-owner Rick Kinsman has assumed full ownership from former co-owner Mike Murphy. In making the announcement, Kinsman said he welcomes the opportunity to build on his 31-year legacy in log home construction in order to take the company in new directions moving forward.

"We aim to stay at the leading edge of the log home industry in North America," said Kinsman, who has been with Confederation since its early beginnings, helping to design, cut and build the first three homes ever built by the company. "We've always put customers first and we'll be continuing to bring new products and services to the table to maintain a strong service focus in the future."

Those plans include a continued emphasis on meeting customer design requirements, leveraging Confederation's sophisticated design software and team of highly skilled planners to provide a simulated walk-through experience that's "as close to the real thing as you can get," he said. The company will also persist in expanding its product line to include popular specialty items like the timber frame accents it has offered since 2008 and its more recent foray into rounded logs.

At the same time, Confederation will be steadily increasing its on-line presence, reaching out to both consumers and prospective dealers through an aggressive strategy that includes regular communications via e-mail as well as social media. Relying on a strong dealer network, Confederation builds anywhere from 50 to 60 log homes each year and Kinsman aims to see the number grow even higher through ongoing incentives to attract new dealers to the table.

Equally important is getting the message out to consumers that log home construction is one of the most environmentally friendly options available. "There's nothing as green as a log home," said Kinsman, noting that wood grows naturally, uses solar energy, is renewable and recyclable, and is sustainable over the long term. "Canada's forest industry is a global leader in climate change mitigation, meaning our wood products require the least amount of energy to manufacture with the lowest impact on water and air quality," he added.

Working alongside Kinsman are his two grown sons. Andy, a licensed carpenter, serves as Operations Manager where he oversees the Drafting and Design Centre while Rich is a Sale Manager with a degree in marketing and years of hands on experience in the shop, whose youthful enthusiasm for the log home industry helps to turn many dreams into reality. Meanwhile, Mark Dunn - who is highly respected in the log home industry and boasts over 20 years experience, remains in the role of Director, Business Development.
