SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 19, 2009
/24-7PressRelease/ -- In a cyber world inundated with low quality, unhealthy recipes, eatricious developed a proprietary rating algorithm to surface the best of the best for its users. eatricious accepts user generated recipe content, transforms it into an educational tool for users by adding meta data and then rates it based on an internal algorithm. Although the rating formula is secret, it is broadly based on the health benefits of the recipe, convenience, nutritional content, community opinion, simplicity and other qualitative aspects such as image quality.
The highest rated recipes show first on the site, but users can sort them however they like. As users enter higher quality recipes into the eatricious system, the lower quality content gets pushed down and potentially even retired. eatricious says the system ensures that users are exposed to only the very best recipes, indicated by 3 tiny apples. Three apples is the highest rating bestowed upon a particular recipe. Product development manager Fabrice Talbot said "Even though healthy recipe content is just one small way in which we help people make better eating decisions, we want to ensure that the recipes truly are the healthiest they can be at all times." eatricious plans to launch the public beta version of the site in the summer of 2009.
