Mrkvicka Jr. with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Mrkvicka celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A nationally recognized financial expert and author of many award-winning books, Mr. Mrkvicka has been the longtime CEO of Reliance Enterprises since 1981. Born in Illinois, not far from where he lives and works today, his humble beginnings as a marketing officer for Downers Grove National Bank began in 1964. Over the course of the next nearly two decades, he worked for several other banking institutions, landing the role of president of First National Bank of Marengo in 1976, just eight years after entering the field.

The youngest person to serve as chairman of the board for a national bank in the United States, Mr. Mrkvicka continued to break barriers and solidify his name year after year. Featured and published in major newspapers and magazines across the country, including USA Today, the Boston Globe, and the Chicago Tribune, his success also landed him on more than 600 syndicated talk shows. He has authored numerous books throughout his career on topics such as personal finance, banking and the stock market, and more recently has focused his writings on his religious beliefs and Christian counseling efforts. The results of his Christian books have also earned him several recognitions, including a Best Christian Book of the Year Award and Best Christian Study of the Year in 2008 for his book "Be Not Deceived," published in 2006. Two years later, his book "The Prayer Promise of Christ" was also named Best Christian Book of the Year in 2010. Some of his other books include "Pick Winning Stocks" in 2000, and "Your Bank is Ripping You Off" in 1999. Furthermore, Mr. Mrkvicka has authored many articles in professional journals and newspapers and was a financial columnist for the National Enquirer.

A member of the National Writers Union and Faith Writers, and the recipient of a Special Congressional Recognition Award for his dedication, Mr. Mrkvicka has been highlighted in dozens of editions of Who's Who, such as Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World. The recipient of an honorary doctorate in 2012, he formerly received a Diploma from the Department of Defense in 1967, a Diploma from the Bank Marketing Association in 1972, and a Graduate Certificate, also from the Bank Marketing Association, in 1973. Becoming a certified commercial pilot through the University of Illinois in 1965, Mr. Mrkvicka was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1969, officially retiring from the military in 1971.

The proud father of two, Mr. Mrkvicka has served his local community, which he has been a part of all his life, in many ways. A former board of directors for DuPage County Lung Association in Downers Grove, member of the Western Suburbs Combined Committee Appeal in Downers Grove, member of the McHenry County Easter Seals Clinic in Woodstock, IL, and former president and treasurer of the Marengo/Union Chamber, Mr. Mrkvicka continues to serve as a longtime representative of Cans for Constitutional Money.
