Element Restaurant Names Tudor Seserman As New Executive Chef

Seserman replaces former Executive Chef Josh Charles.

ST. LOUIS, MO, February 10, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Element Restaurant and Lounge, St. Louis' destination for contemporary seasonal comfort food, is now being led by new Executive Chef Tudor Seserman. Seserman replaces former Executive Chef Josh Charles, who recently left to take a position at Blood and Sand Restaurant.

Seserman comes from a long and varied culinary background. He spent the better part of the past four years working under chef/owner Ben Poremba of Bengelina Hospitality Group. The enterprise is responsible for some of the best fine dining restaurants in St. Louis including Elaia and Parigi, which Seserman worked at as Sous Chef and Executive Sous Chef, respectively.

Other kitchen credits include Executive Chef for United Provisions, Chef de Cuisine at Tree House, and Acting Executive Chef at The Copper Pig. He also worked stints at other top restaurants including Cleveland Heath, Franco, and BARcelona. Seserman has an MA in Philosophy from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a BA in Liberal Arts from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York.

Seserman has been running Element's kitchen since September and took on the Executive Chef role soon after. "Element is exactly the place I want to be," says Seserman regarding his new position. "It's casual dining with an elegant twist. We're making dishes with the freshest local ingredients and mixing up our menu all the time. It's an exciting atmosphere to be in."

Element owner Carol Hastie says of the change, "We're very happy about the direction we're going in with Chef Seserman. His culinary prowess and leadership abilities are perfect for taking on our kitchen. He and our General Manager, Caleb Kosek, make a great team and work so well together. We wish Chef Charles all the best in his new position and thank him for the hard work he's done with us."

Element Restaurant and Lounge is located off Lafayette Square on 1419 Carroll Street and offers contemporary comfort food using local ingredients and a menu that changes seasonally. Guests can enjoy small and large shareable plates in an expansive, sophisticated, and open-concept atmosphere.
