Elizabeth Pennell Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Education

Elizabeth Pennell is committed to improving early childhood educational programs for educators, families and children in Nanaimo and Ladysmith, Canada



    NANAIMO, BC, CANADA, February 27, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Elizabeth Pennell, Coordinator for Early Learning and Community Liaison at School District 68 Nanaimo-Ladysmith, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

With 35 years of practiced expertise in early childhood and primary education, Ms. Pennell has achieved professional success as the coordinator for early learning and community liaison at School District 68 Nanaimo-Ladysmith. She plays a huge role in the development of educational and literacy programs within the school district as well as her community. In her position, she handles program administration responsibilities, including writing reports, fundraising and developing program strategies. Additionally, she collects data related to early human development in the areas of education, health, and family services to facilitate The Greater Nanaimo and Ladysmith Early Years Partnerships, community development groups within the community that support the optimal development of children and their families.

An alumnus of San Diego State University, Ms. Pennell earned a master's degree in leadership and administration in 1995. She was responsible for co facilitating a strategic plan for the school district. She keeps abreast of changes within her field by being an active member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), Zero to Three and Learning Forward. She intends to continue to promote the importance of learning for a lifetime in the future.

Elizabeth is currently teaching two courses for the University of Vancouver Island. The courses: Early Learning in BC and Full Day Kindergarten provide an emphasis on child development, curriculum, classroom environments and assessment.
