Elizabeth Skoglund Honored by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Family Therapy and Writing

    GLENDALE, CA, November 18, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Elizabeth Skoglund has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Since 1972, Ms. Skoglund has written more than 40 books and has been working with clients in California to help heal and fortify relationships and mental health. Additionally, she treats behavioral issues and tends to patients suffering from addiction, anxiety and depression. Driven by a desire to help families achieve overall wellness and functionality, Ms. Skoglund demonstrates compassion and offers level-headed advice that has earned her a great deal of recognition in her professional community. Since 1972, she has worked in private practice in the Glendale region; however, her work began much earlier in academic settings. Previously, she was a teacher and counselor for Marlborough School in Los Angeles and later at Glendale High School.

Desiring to positively impact families on a larger scale, Ms. Skoglund authored many books on the topics of family counseling. Her most applauded pieces of writing include "It's OK to be a Woman Again," "Making Bad Times Good," "Safety Zones," "Harold's Dog Horace is Scared of the Dark," "Life on the Line," and "The Welcoming Hearth." She also authored "Bright Days, Dark Nights: With Charles Spurgeon in Triumph over Emotional Pain," and "Secrets of the Second Half: Living Well for the Rest of Your Life." More recently, she has written More Precious Than a Sparrow; I'll Be Better in the Morning: One Person's Journey With Chronic Fatigue Syndrome; and Found Faithful: The Timeless Stories of Charles Spurgeon, Amy Carmichael, C.S. Lewis, Ruth Bell Graham, and Others Who Triumphed over Pain. She is currently completing Finishing Well, due to be published in 2017. In recognition of professional excellence and her contributions as an author, Ms. Skoglund was selected for inclusion in Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.

To support her careers in writing and family counseling, Ms. Skoglund invested in her education. In 1959, she received a Bachelor of Arts after completing her studies at UCLA. A decade later, she earned a Master of Arts from Point Loma University. She continued in her professional development over the years through her membership and active involvement with the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. As she looks to the future, Ms. Skoglund intends to continue working as a family therapist in the Glendale area.
